ATLANTA BRAVES TO OPEN FINAL HOMESTAND OF ’19 REGULAR SEASON TONIGHT

The Atlanta Braves were off on Monday and will open their final homestand of the regular season tonight with an outing against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Dallas Keuchel will serve as starting pitcher for Atlanta, and Vince Velasquez will head to the mound for Philadelphia.  First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM. Air time is set for 6:05 pm from the Atlanta Braves Radio Network.

Atlanta’s lead in the National League East currently stands at 10 games over the Washington Nationals after the Nats lost to St. Louis on Monday evening. The Braves’ magic number to clinch the division is now three with 11 games remaining in the regular season.

Prior to their off day, the Braves completed a seven-game road trip with stops in Philadelphia and Washington DC which resulted in a total of four wins and three losses.

Rome native Charlie Culberson was injured in Saturday’s outing at DC when he was hit by a 91 mph pitch from Fernando Rodney. Manager Brian Snitker confirmed to the media on Sunday afternoon that Culberson will be sidelined for the remainder of this season, although his facial fractures will not require surgery.

The Braves clinched a playoff berth with a 10-1 victory over the Nationals in that same outing.

Atlanta’s final homestand of the 2019 regular season will feature three games each with the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Francisco Giants.
