BRAVES TAKE 2-1 LEAD IN NLDS OVER CARDINALS

The Atlanta Braves defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 3-1 on Sunday at Busch Stadium in St. Louis in Game Three of their National League Division Series, which allowed Atlanta to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

The Braves were down 1-0 heading into the top of the ninth inning.  And then Dansby Swanson tied it up with an RBI double which brought Billy Hamilton to home plate.

Adam Duvall hit an RBI single that drove Swanson and Rafael Ortega home to give the Braves the lead.

Starting pitcher Mike Soroka gave up just one run and two hits, walked none and struck out seven over seven innings of work for Atlanta.  Sean Newcomb nabbed the win in relief, while Mark Melancon got the save. Carlos Martinez took the loss for St. Louis.

The Braves and the Cardinals will meet in Game Four of their NLDS today at St. Louis.  First pitch is set for 3:07 pm.  WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM will join programming by the Atlanta Braves Radio Network upon the conclusion of Rush Limbaugh at 3 pm.

The Braves are just one win away from their first trip to the National League Championship Series since 2001.
