JOHNSON ELEMENTARY FIFTH-GRADER WON FLOYD COUNTY SCHOOLS’ DISTRICT SPELLING BEE

Will Hosford, a fifth-grade student at Johnson Elementary School, emerged as the victor in the Floyd County Schools’ District Spelling Bee on Tuesday morning at the county schools’ Central Office.  The event was sponsored by the Floyd County chapter of the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE), as well as Communities in Schools of Rome-Floyd County.  Will is now bound for the GAE Region 1 Spelling Bee set for Saturday, February 22, 2020 in the Lakeview Building on the campus of Georgia Highlands College, according to an FCS media release.

Armuchee Middle School eighth-grader Ethan Wilder came in second place of the FCS Spelling Bee and will serve as the alternate for the next level of competition.
