HAWKS TOP KNICKS IN DOUBLE OT AT STATE FARM ARENA

The Atlanta Hawks beat the New York Knicks 140-135 in double overtime at State Farm Arena on Sunday evening. It allowed the Hawks to even the three game series between the teams at 1-1.

Trae Young led the charge for Atlanta with a game-high 48 points, along with 13 assists. John Collins added 32 points and 16 rebounds. Dewayne Dedmon had 10 points off the bench in his return to the Hawks’ line-up; he was traded back to Atlanta from Sacramento prior to last week’s NBA trade deadline.

Julius Randle had a team-high 35 points and 18 rebounds for New York, who saw a four-game winning streak come to an end.

The Hawks improved to 15-39 with their victory, although they are still next-to-last in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. They will be in Orlando, FL to take on the Magic tonight; tip off is set for 7 pm.
