CHIEFTAINS HERB AND PLANT SALE TO BE CONDUCTED ONLINE THIS YEAR, AMID CORONAVIRUS OUTBREAK

Coronavirus will not stop the Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home from holding its annual Herb and Plant Sale in 2020; it will just be held online this year, according to Heather Shores, Executive Director. She attests that it was important to adapt to the circumstances, as the Herb and Plant Sale is a major fundraiser for the museum, a National Historic Landmark.

Instead of shopping in person at the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds during just one weekend, supporters have a whole week to shop online for herbs and plants at www.chieftainsmuseum.org from this Friday, March 27th through next Friday, April 3rd. You can order on the website and pay through PayPal, or reach out to the museum by calling (706) 291-9494. Orders may be placed via email to [email protected]; make checks payable to the Chieftains Museum and send them to P.O. Box 373, Rome, GA 30162.

The pick-up for plants will be held at the Community Building of the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds from 3 pm to 7 pm on Thursday, April 9th and from 10 am to 2 pm on Friday, April 10th. Patrons are advised not to get out of their cars; instead, drive through the pick-up line! Plants will loaded into your car, and everyone will keep a safe distance. Shores says that Chieftains has received permission from the City of Rome to do this.
