ATLANTA BRAVES HAMMERED BY COLORADO ROCKIES
The Atlanta Braves dropped game three of a four game series to the Colorado Rockies 8-2 last night in Denver.
Colorado’s starting pitcher Tyler Matzek got the win in his major league debut after giving up two runs on five hits and striking out seven in seven innings pitched. It was a tough night at the office for Braves starter Julio Teheran, who surrendered a career-high seven runs on 10 hits in six and one-third innings. Teheran was tagged with the loss.
The Braves were held scoreless through the eighth inning. The first of their two runs resulted from an Andrelton Simmons single that scored Chris Johnson.
An RBI single from BJ Upton brought Tommy LaStella home to score the Braves’ second run of the night.
The Braves will wrap up their series in Colorado this afternoon. First pitch is set for 3:10 pm at Coors Field. WLAQ AM 1410 will join the Braves broadcast in progress upon the conclusion of the Rush Limbaugh Show at 3 pm.
