FORMER CARTER ADVISOR BERT LANCE DIES AT AGE 82
Bert Lance, a former adviser to President Jimmy Carter, died Thursday evening at the age of 82. Lance passed away at his home in Calhoun. He served as Carter’s first budget director before leaving the position due to an investigation into his bank’s lending practices. He was cleared of any wrongdoing.
Lance’s son David is the president and CEO of Greater Rome Bank.
