In your local college baseball update, Shorter University swept a non-league double header with Johnson University yesterday at Shorter’s Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex. The Hawks won game one 14-2 and the nightcap 15-0. They’ll head to Tennessee for a non-league solo game this afternoon at 4 pm.

College softball is on tap for today. Berry College’s Lady Vikings will host Covenant in a double header at 3 pm at Berry’s South Ford Field.
ATLANTA HAWKS CAP OFF WINNING WEEKEND WITH QUADRUPLE OT WIN OVER UTAH JAZZ AT PHILIPS
In NBA news, the Atlanta Hawks capped off a busy weekend with a 139-133 quadruple overtime victory over the Utah Jazz last night at the Philips Arena. It was a nice ending to what turned out to be a winning weekend for the Hawks, with a 95-92 victory in Washington DC over the Wizards on Saturday night and a 93-84 win at home over the New Jersey Nets on Friday night. The Hawks will take a well-deserved night off tonight and get back into action tomorrow night in Milwaukee against the Bucks. Tip off is set for 8 pm.

In your Spring Training update, the Atlanta Braves took a whopping 11-1 victory from a split squad Houston Astros team yesterday at Champion Stadium at ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The Braves produced four home runs in yesterday’s game – two from Freddie Freeman and one each from Dan Uggla and Brian McCann.
LOCAL COLLEGE BASEBALL WEEKEND UPDATE
In your local college baseball update from over the weekend, Shorter University’s Hawks hosted the University of Mobile in a three game series at Shorter’s Robert H. Ledbetter Baseball Complex. The teams split Saturday’s double header, with Mobile winning game one 8-3 and Shorter taking the victory in the nightcap 10-5. The Hawks won the series closer yesterday 17-11. Shorter will host Johnson University in a double header tomorrow at 2 pm.
COLLEGE SOFTBALL WEEKEND UPDATE
In college softball from over the weekend, Shorter University’s Lady Hawks swept Truett McConnell in a double header 9-6 and 9-1 on Saturday at the Alto Park Softball Complex. The Lady Hawks will be in Columbus, Georgia for an SSAC Crossover event next weekend.
NCAA FINAL FOUR SET
The Final Four has been set for the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship. Kentucky will take on Louisville and Ohio State will go head to head with Kansas this Saturday night. The winners of each will go on the Championship game on Monday, April 2nd in New Orleans.
