COLOSSAL COLON COMING TO THE HARBIN CLINIC
Have you ever wondered what it looks like from the inside of your colon? The Harbin Clinic will offer the public a chance to find out as they welcome the Colossal Colon (or “Coco”) to the clinic, 1825 Martha Berry Highway in Rome, this Wednesday, March 12th from 9 am until 4 pm in observance of National Colon Cancer Awareness Month. Kids will be permitted to crawl through the giant 40-foot long and four-foot high colon, while adults can look through the windows to explore the organ and learn more about colon diseases and conditions, according to a Harbin media release. The clinic’s gastroenterology team will be present to answer questions and promote colonoscopies for all adults ages 50 and older.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the US. An estimated 140,000 Americans are diagnosed with colorectal cancer annually, and more than 50,000 people die from it. More than 90 percent of cases occur among those
ages 50 and older.
