COOSA VALLEY WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S SET FOR SATURDAY

Written by Matt Davis on November 7, 2013. Posted in News/Weather

The Coosa Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s will be held this Saturday, November 9th at Ridge Ferry Park in Rome.  Registration will begin at 8 am at the Shoals entrance to the park, with the walk to begin at 9 am.  Co-chair Charisse Durham says that more than 200 walkers have already registered to participate.

In addition to the walk, there will be kids’ activities along with events to honor those who suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease, those who have died from it and caregivers.

Money raised from the Walk will go to the Alzheimer’s Association and will stay local.  Durham indicates that the fund raising goal for this year’s walk is $40,000.  She enthuses that 60 percent of that goal has already been reached.
