EARLY BIRD CANCER WALK, CHRISTMAS WREATH OPEN HOUSE SET FOR TOMORROW AT HARBIN CLINIC CANCER CENTER

Written by Matt Davis on November 9, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

The Early Bird Cancer Walk to raise funds for Cancer Navigators and Summit Quest will be presented by the Harbin Clinic Tony E. Warren MD Cancer Center tomorrow morning.  The event will be highlighted by the artwork of local folk artist Ken “Blacktop” Gentle, who is famous for his iconic blackbird images.

The walk is five miles along the riverfront in downtown Rome and part of the Kingfisher Trail.  It will begin at 8 am.  Registration is $38.  Registration forms are available at the Harbin Clinic Cancer Center, Cancer Navigators and the Rome-Floyd YMCA and online at www.harbinclinic.com.

At the same time the walk is going on, the Harbin Clinic Cancer Center will host a Christmas Wreath Open House.  It is set for 8 am until noon.  The Christmas Wreath Holiday Fundraiser is a benefit for Cancer Navigators, according to Janice Hopkins, cancer service line director for the Harbin Clinic Cancer Center.

Wreaths will be auctioned off to the highest bidders at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 21st.

For more information about tomorrow’s Early Bird Cancer Walk or the Christmas Wreath Holiday Fundraiser, contact Janice Hopkins at (706) 528-9091 or email her at jhopkins@harbinclinic.com.
