FIREWORKS, MUSIC TO HIGHLIGHT FOURTH OF JULY CELEBRATION AT RIDGE FERRY PARK

Written by Matt Davis on July 4, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

Rome and Floyd County will join with communities across the USA today to celebrate Independence Day.  A big night is in store tonight for those in attendance at the Fourth of July celebration at Ridge Ferry Park – the Salute to America.  Gates open at 6 pm for the event, which will feature patriotic music from the Eighth Regiment Band and the Rome Symphony Orchestra, as well as fireworks.  The celebration is being sponsored by the Harbin Clinic and the Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority.

Harbin Clinic President and CEO Dr. Ken Davis says that Harbin is proud to give back to the community by sponsoring tonight’s Fourth of July Celebration at Ridge Ferry Park.

Dr. Davis will serve as the emcee for tonight’s big event, according to Harbin Clinic Director of Marketing Brenda Bowen.  Bowen invites the public to bring their lawn chairs and blankets out to Ridge Ferry Park to enjoy the festivities.  The Eighth Regiment Band will begin playing at 7 pm.  The presentation of flags and colors is set for 8 pm and will be followed by music from the Rome Sympony Orchestra at 8:30 pm.  Fireworks will begin after the Symphony performance, around 9:30 pm.
