FLOYD COUNTY SCHOOLS PRE-K REGISTRATION BEGINS TODAY

Written by Matt Davis on February 21, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

The Floyd County Schools Pre-K registration period to apply for the 2012-2013 school year begins today and continues through Friday, March 2, 2012.  This provides an opportunity for parents to register their children for the slots available in the Pre-K program in the Floyd County Schools for next year, according to a Floyd County Schools media release.

Applications for the program will be available at each Floyd County School offering a Pre-K class as of today.  They must be turned into your local school.  To be eligible for Pre-K, a child must be four years old on or before September 1, 2012.  Proof of the child’s age will not be needed to complete an application, but proof of residency will be required.  A recent utility bill in the name of the applicant will be acceptable as proof of residency.

Pre-K slots are not filled on a first come basis so all applications received during the application period will have an equal shot at the slots available.  Names will be randomly drawn from applications received to fill the number of spaces available at each school site.  Parents of applicants will be notified by mail concerning the status of their application.

The Floyd County School System will offer 19 Pre-K classes in the next school year.
