Written by Matt Davis on June 25, 2013. Posted in Sports

The Atlanta Braves beat the Kansas City Royals 4-3 last night in the Braves’ first time ever playing at Kansas City’s Kauffman Stadium.

Jason Heyward drove in a season-high three runs, including a tie-breaking home run in the top of the seventh inning.

Braves starting pitcher Kris Medlen got the win in last night’s game; he allowed three runs, seven hits, and one walk, while striking out five in seven innings of work.  Reliever Craig Kimbrel picked up his 22nd save of the season.

The Braves will play the second and final game of their brief two-game interleague series with the Royals tonight in Kansas City.  First pitch is set for 8:10 pm.  The game will be broadcast on WLAQ AM 1410, Rome’s original home for Atlanta Braves baseball.  Air time for pre-game programming is 6:55 pm from the Braves Radio Network.
