LIHEAP FUNDING TO RESUME TODAY FOR TALLATOONA CAP, INC.
If you are in need of financial assistance with your heating bills, there’s good news! Additional funding has been allocated for the Low-Income Home Energy (Heating) Assistance Program (or LIHEAP) administered by Tallatoona CAP Inc. The program opened to the elderly and home bound on November first, but was halted a few weeks later due to lack of funding. Due to additional funding, Katrina Estes, service coordinator for Tallatoona CAP Inc., says the program will resume today. Appointments will be scheduled at local county offices. You must call for an appointment. Those with (706) area codes are asked to schedule one by calling (toll free) (770) 773-7730. You can also call (770) 383-3292 for more information. No walk ins will be permitted, an appointment must be made to see if you are eligible for LIHEAP.
Folks are not likely to be using their heaters today. Highs are expected to be in the mid 60s with a continued chance of rain. The National Weather Service reported almost an inch of rain at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport/Admiral John H. Towers Field in the Armuchee community over the weekend.
