MIXED RECEPTION TO OBAMA’S STATE OF THE UNION
President Barack Obama delivered his State of the Union address last night. His speech was met with mixed reactions from lawmakers and the public in general.
One of the topics covered by the President in his State of the Union was jobs. US Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia says more needs to be done to increase private sector jobs.
The President also discussed education in last night’s speech. Isakson says that Obama will pay a visit to Atlanta on Thursday to check out Georgia’s Pre-K program.
Also in his State of the Union last night, President Obama also expressed a desire to bump up the nation’s minimum wage. Guns were also a big topic of discussion, along with foreign affairs.
