NUNN BRINGS ‘WHAT WASHINGTON CAN LEARN FROM GEORGIA’ TOUR TO ROME

Written by Matt Davis on August 16, 2013. Posted in News/Weather

US Senate candidate Michelle Nunn paid a visit to Rome on Thursday afternoon as part of her “What Washington Can Learn from Georgia” tour.

Nunn, the former CEO of George HW Bush’s Points of Light, is running for the US Senate seat currently held by Saxby Chambliss.  She is the daughter of former Senator Sam Nunn.

Nunn indicates that she has learned a lot from her father that has influenced her politically and otherwise, including the value of servant leadership.

Nunn is encouraging volunteerism during her “What Washington Can Learn from Georgia” tour.  The tour highlights ordinary people doing extraordinary things, according to Nunn.

So just what can Washington learn from Georgia?  Nunn believes the answer is working through differences and across party lines to solve problems.

Nunn promoted her campaign with diners at the Partridge Restaurant on Broad Street in downtown Rome.  Other stops on her tour have included:  Macon, Columbus, Albany, Valdosta, Savannah, Augusta and Athens.  In addition to visiting Rome, Nunn’s plans for Thursday involved a stop in Dalton.
