OVERNIGHT RAIN GIVES WAY TO COOLER TEMPERATURES IN NWGA AS WE HEAD INTO THE WEEKEND
For those of you who like autumn-like conditions, get ready – this is going to be your kind of weekend. Rain moved into the Rome area overnight and is expected to give way to sunny skies and cooler temperatures over the weekend. Today’s forecast calls for a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 am with patchy fog before 9 am. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny and a bit windy, with highs around 87. Tonight’s lows are expected to dip into the mid 50s with mostly clear skies. Look for clear conditions throughout the weekend with daytime highs in the mid 80s and overnight lows in the upper 50s to low 60s.
The National Weather Service reported .06 inches of rain last night at the Richard B. Russell Regional Airport/Admiral John H. Towers Field in the Armuchee community.
