PROVISIONAL BALLOTS COULD HAVE IMPACT ON SUPERIOR COURT CLERK RACE

Written by Matt Davis on November 9, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

Provisional ballots from Tuesday’s General Election that are slated for a final count today could change the outcome of the race for Floyd County Clerk of Superior Court.  Based on Tuesday night’s results, a margin of only 32 votes separates the candidates.  Incumbent Barbara Penson received 15,514 votes compared to the 15,482 for her challenger, Mark McAllister.

Floyd County Board of Elections and Registration Chair Pete McDonald says that the provisional ballots that will be counted today could have an impact on the Superior Court Clerk race.

Barbara Penson is seeking her second term in office after winning it the first time in 2008.
