REMEMBER THE TRAIL OF TEARS SERIES TO CONCLUDE THIS THURSDAY
The Remembering the Trail of Tears series will conclude this Thursday evening, March 13th, with a lecture from scholar Sarah H. Hill. The lecture, entitled “Cherokees, Georgians, and the Trail of Tears from Rome, 1838”, is set to get underway at 7 pm at Berry College’s Krannert Ballroom.
The event is co-sponsored by the Georgia Humanities Council and the Chieftains Museum/Major Ridge Home. The museum’s executive director, Heather Shores, says
that Dr. Hill is one of the premiere scholars in Native American history. She adds that those who attend Thursday night’s lecture will be given a free pass to the museum.
Remembering the Trail of Tears is a series of five lectures and performances held during the 2013-2014 academic year to commemorate the event’s 175th anniversary.
