ROME BRAVES FIELD MANAGER REFLECTS ON 2014 SEASON

Written by Matt Davis on September 3, 2014. Posted in Sports

It’s hard to believe that the 2014 season is over for the Rome Braves. The Braves concluded their season on Labor Day with a loss to the Savannah Sand Gnats.

The month of August proved to be the only month in which the Braves had a winning record. Field Manager Jonathan Schuerholz told Rome Braves radio voice Ben Poplin that this had a lot to do with consistency.

Schuerholz indicates that although the Braves’ record for 2014 was not the most desirable, he expects great things from his players in the future.

This was the first season for Schuerholz to serve as the Rome Braves’ field manager. He played for the local ballclub in 2003, the team’s inaugural season. Schuerholz’s squad gave Rome its one and only South Atlantic League title.

By the way, the Rome Braves will open the 2015 season on April 9th at home against the Asheville Tourists.
