Written by Matt Davis on May 20, 2013. Posted in News/Weather

A Rome man has won the big bucks in the Georgia Lottery.  Sam Adkins, age 56, won a $129,124 jackpot prize playing Fantasy 5 by matching all five winning numbers in the April 30th drawing, according to a Georgia Lottery media release.

The winning Quik Pik ticket was sold by Smiley Shula’s Corner Shop on Turner McCall Boulevard.

Adkins recently learned about his prize and claimed it at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Dalton.

Adkins enthuses, “I went back to the store and had it checked.  I was quite pleased.”

He and wife, Angela, have four grown children.

Winning numbers from the April 30th Fantasy 5 drawing were:  1-3-32-36-37.
