ROME WOMAN KILLED IN TRAFFIC OVER THE WEEKEND
In news from over the weekend, a Rome woman was killed after being struck by multiple vehicles on Shorter Avenue on Friday night. Catherine Lynn Hand, age 22, was pronounced dead at Floyd Medical Center around 1 am on Saturday. She was trying to cross Shorter Avenue just before midnight when she was hit by a semi truck and thrown into oncoming traffic at which point she was hit by other vehicles. Her body has been taken to the GBI Crime Lab for further investigation.
