THANKSGIVING LOVE FEAST SET FOR TOMORROW AT ROME CIVIC CENTER, DONATIONS ACCEPTED THIS EVENING

Written by Matt Davis on November 21, 2012. Posted in News/Weather

The Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County will present the 24th annual Thanksgiving Love Feast tomorrow at the Rome Civic Center from 11 am until 2 pm or until food runs out.

The Reverend Terrell Shields with the Concerned Citizens of Rome and Floyd County says that donations of sweets, coats, money and time are being sought for the Love Feast.

Donations of cakes, pies, and other desserts can be dropped off at the Civic Center this evening, beginning at 6 pm.  You can donate your warm winter coats and jackets at the Civic Center starting at 5 pm.

Those interested in volunteering should call the Reverend Terrell Shields at (706) 234-2091 to find out a time they are most needed.  Time slots are 9 am until 11 am, 11 am until 1 pm and 1 pm until 3 pm.

If you would like to donate money, make your check payable to “Thanksgiving Love Feast” and send it to P.O. Box 161, Rome, Georgia 30161.

The local Pizza Hut is donating pizzas to the Thanksgiving Love Feast for those who are not big fans of turkey and dressing, according to Shields.

Shields says that the Thanksgiving Love Feast is free and will be served to anyone who might not otherwise have a Thanksgiving meal or who would have to spend the holiday alone.
