The Community Foundation for Greater Rome has announced the first round of grants from the COVID-19 Recovery Fund to 17 non-profit organizations in Rome, according to a release from the organization.
The fund is an initiative to help local non-profits address the long-term needs in Rome and Floyd County as the effects of the global coronavirus pandemic continue to unfold.
The Community Foundation’s annual Impact Grant has been redirected to the new Recovery Fund, as well as donations from individuals and transfers from donor advised funds. Interested parties may learn more and make a donation online at www.cffgr.org.
The first round of grants will help 17 different organizations adjust to the new reality of COVID-19. These grants will fund a wide range of needs including personal protective equipment for social workers, to-go containers for all free lunches, telephone grocery services for seniors, and filling in the gaps left by cancelled fundraising events.

- Salvation Army of Rome
- Exchange Club Family Resource Center
- Free Clinic of Rome
- Summit Quest
- Cancer Navigators
- End Slavery Georgia
- LivingProof Recovery
- Rome Action Ministries
- Boys and Girls Club of Northwest Georgia
- Rome Shakespeare Festival
- Tallatoona CAP, Inc.
- Harbor House
