If Joe Biden’s lead stands across Georgia in the 2020 presidential race, Rome City Commissioner Wendy Davis will be among 16 individuals who will cast an electoral vote for the Democrat.
Commissioner Davis, a member of the Democratic National Committee, says that a state’s number of electors is based on its number of representatives plus its two senators in US Congress.
Davis indicates that the opportunity to be an elector has not been presented to anyone in the Rome area in the last century (at least, not to her knowledge).
The electors will cast their ballots for Biden on December 14th if his lead over Donald Trump stands in Georgia.
