CORONAVIRUS, VACCINE UPDATE FROM GEORGIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH

A total 751 new cases of coronavirus and 13 more virus-related deaths were reported in Georgia on Tuesday by the state Department of Public Health.

According to the latest update by the DPH issued just before 3 pm, there have been 882,764 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. The state’s death toll now stands at 17,604. In Floyd County, there were 9,997 confirmed cases and 184 fatalities. Gwinnett County had this state’s highest number of confirmed cases with 86,514, and Fulton County had the most deaths with 1,276.

As of the most recent update to the vaccine dashboard on Tuesday, 6,290,402 vaccines have been administered statewide; 35 percent of Georgians have had at least a dose of the vaccine, while 26 percent have been fully vaccinated.
