PERDUE BRINGS GUBERNATORIAL CAMPAIGN TO ROME

Former US Senator and gubernatorial hopeful David Perdue paid a visit to Rome on Tuesday as a guest during the montly meeting of the Floyd County Republican Women at the Coosa Country Club.

Perdue stated in a radio interview earlier this week that he is running against current Governor Brian Kemp for the GOP’s nomination in the May primary with a goal of defeating Stacy Abrams, Democrat, in the Fall.

Perdue lost his post on the US Senate to Jon Ossoff in the runoff election held in January of 2021. His campaign for Governor of Georgia has been endorsed by former US President Donald Trump.

Other GOP gubernatorial candidates include Vernon Jones, Kandiss Taylor, Catherine Davis, and Jonathan Garcia. Abrams is unopposed in the primary.
