Georgia gas price average experience a modest decrease at the pump compared to a week ago. Georgia drivers are now paying an average price of $3.25 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline (subject to change overnight).
Monday’s state average is 1 cent less than a week ago, 13 cents less than a month ago, and 89 cents less than this time last year. It now costs $48.75 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Drivers are now paying almost $14.00 less to fill up at the pump compared to a year ago.
“Gas prices remain steady as Memorial Day approaches,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman. “A decline in demand and the low cost of oil are the main culprits. It’s possible this is merely the lull before Memorial Day, but it could be a trend that lingers into summer. Stay Tuned.”
National Gas Price Average Remain Stuck in Neutral
Since last Monday, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline remains at $3.53 compared to a week ago (subject to change overnight). According to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA), gas demand declined from 9.30 to 8.91 million barrels a day last week. The drop has reduced pressure on pump prices. Meanwhile, total domestic gasoline stocks decreased by 1.4 million barrels to 218.3 million barrels. If gas demand continues to decrease, drivers could see pump prices follow suit.

Atlanta: $3.28
The most expensive Georgia metro markets – are Savannah ($3.37), Hinesville-Fort Stewart ($3.31), and Augusta-Aiken ($3.29).
The least expensive Georgia metro markets – are Dalton ($3.17), Columbus ($3.16), and Catoosa-Dade-Walker ($3.15).
