FAIRVIEW ES BROWN HERITAGE CORPORATION TO HOST ANNUAL BBQ FUNDRAISER THIS WEEKEND

The Fairview ES Brown Heritage Corporation will host their annual BBQ fundraiser this weekend. It will be held at the Rome Civic Center on Friday, May 26th from 11 am on 6 pm (or until sold out) and at Ridge Ferry Park this Saturday, May 27th from 11 am to 7 pm (or until sold out).

Some delicious food will be on the menu, according to Joyce Perdue-Smith, Chairwoman of the Corporation, who adds that the event will be catered by Williamson Brothers BBQ.

Orders may be placed in person on either day of the event, enthuses Perdue-Smith.

Proceeds will support the Fairview ES Brown Heritage Corporation, whose mission is to preserve the school building in Cave Spring which nearly 100 years ago was established for the education of African American children in the area. Perdue-Smith indicates that these funds will primarily go towards operating expenses.

The school is featured on the National Register of Historic Places. For more information, visit www.fairviewbrown.org.

Live entertainment will be provided at the BBQ on Saturday at Ridge Ferry Park.
