Would you like to make that Thanksgiving meal even more rewarding this year? Start the holiday by participating in the second annual AdventHealth Redmond Rome Turkey Trot 5K Run and 3K Feel Whole Stroll. It is slated for Thursday, November 27th at 9 am at AdventHealth Stadium.
Julie Smith, Executive Director of TRED of Rome/Floyd County, says that more than 600 runners and walkers participated in the inaugural Turkey Trot last year.
Registration is available at www.rometurkeytrot.com at a cost of $30 for each registrant through November 14th. Runners/walkers who register by that date will be guaranteed a t-shirt. The registration cost will increase to $40 each on November 15th.
Proceeds from this event will benefit Northwest Georgia Hunger Ministries, says Smith.
The Turkey Trot is the first of its kind for Rome and Floyd County, enthuses Smith, who adds that last year’s event even drew some participants from out of town that were in town for Thanksgiving.
