Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley is excited that the inhabitants of its 61st home build have moved into their new home just in time for the holidays and looks forward to the commencement of construction for its 62nd home build at the beginning of 2026.
The dedication of the Freeman home took place in mid-November in North Rome, says Betsy Allgood, Executive Director. She adds that ground will be broken for the next home on January 10th in South Rome.
Volunteers are needed to help with the next build, as well as with small repairs. Are you handy with a hammer and ready to serve? Allgood asks potential volunteers to visit www.habitatcoosavalley.org or the Habitat ReStore on East 1st Avenue to pitch in their assistance.
Donations also help Habitat to build homes, says Allgood, who adds that the organization welcomes money as well as items for the ReStore.
The public may get more information about Habitat for Humanity – Coosa Valley on the website or by calling (706) 378-0030.
Applications for Habitat’s homeownership program will be available in the new year.
