Rome, Georgia returned to the national spotlight on Thursday afternoon as U.S. President Donald Trump returned for a third visit. He dropped by The Varsity, then gave a speech at Coosa Steel during which he made remarks about the economy and expressed his endorsement of Clay Fuller for Congress.
In addition to supporters, protesters were on hand for Trump’s visit.
Early voting continues through March 6th in the Special Election for U.S. House of Representatives, District 14. Floyd County voters may cast early ballots on any weekday between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm at the Elections Office, 18 East 12th Street, or the Anthony Recreation Center at 2901 Garden Lakes Boulevard. Weekend early voting will be offered only at the Elections Office this Saturday, February 21st and on Saturday, February 28th from 9 am until 5 pm, as well as on Sunday, March 1st from 1 pm until 5 pm. Precincts countywide will be open from 7 am until 7 pm on Election Day, Tuesday, March 10th.
