COLLEGE FOOTBALL ROUND UP
The Shorter University Hawks continue the search for their first win of the 2013 season this Saturday as hosts to 18th ranked Carson Newman College in the first-ever non-conference meeting between Gulf South Conference and South Atlantic Conference teams. Kick off is slated for 1:30 pm at Barron Stadium.
There have been a multitude of struggles this season for the Hawks, whose adversities include numerous injuries. However, head coach Phil Jones chooses to remain optimistic. He states in a Shorter sports release, “I don’t want to sound like I’m making excuses. If you wear yourself out on excuses, you won’t get better. Like life, it comes down to how you handle adversity – and how you overcome it.”
