ROME IS THE SITE OF A STATEWIDE HISTORIC PRESERVATION CONFERENCE THIS WEEK

The City of Rome and the Historic Preservation Commission are hosting the Georgia Statewide Historic Preservation Conference today until Friday. Some 300 attendees from across the state have registered for the conference, reports a release from the City of Rome.  Activities are being held at the Forum River Center, the City Auditorium and the Rome Area History Museum.  There will be workshops and tours of local landmarks, as well as a celebration of leaders in the field of historic preservation.

Brittany Griffin, Community Planner, indicates, “We are excited to host the state conference in Rome this year. Our preservation community in Rome and Floyd County has worked hard to establish partnerships and utilize programs to preserve our places of historic importance.  We are excited to share our vision and showcase the fruits of our efforts.”
