YOUR STATE PARKS DAY AND OUTDOOR ADVENTURE DAY ARE ON TAP FOR THIS SATURDAY

Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites will observe Your State Parks Day this Saturday, September 28th.  Kim Hatcher, Public Affairs Coordinator, says that admission and parking will be free to those who volunteer their assistance for service projects at parks statewide.  This observance is sponsored annually by the Friends of Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites.

Hatcher indicates that a complete listing of Your State Parks Day activities is featured online at www.gastateparks.org.

The annual Outdoor Adventure Day is also on tap for this Saturday at James H. “Sloppy” Floyd State Park in Summerville.  Hatcher says that the primary focus will be teaching kids how to fish.

Hot dogs and drinks will be available to attendees of Outdoor Adventure Day (while they last).  Parking will be $5.  For additional information, contact the park at (706) 857-0826.
