BRAVES CONCLUDE REGULAR SEASON WITH LOSS IN NEW YORK TO METS; NOW – ONWARD TO THE POSTSEASON!

The Atlanta Braves ended the 2019 regular season with a loss at the hands of the New York Mets 7-6 in 11 innings on Sunday in the finale of a three-game set at Citi Field in New York, which allowed the Mets to complete a sweep of weekend series among rivals in the National League East.

Adeiny Hechavarria tied the game at 4-4 on a solo home run top of the ninth inning.  He broke that tie with another solo shot in the top of the 11th that was immediately followed by a solo home run from Adam Duvall.  Unfortunately for the Braves, the Mets came charging back in the bottom of that inning and secured the win with a three-run homer off Grant Dayton by Dominic Smith.

The National League East-champion Braves concluded the ’19 regular season with 97 wins and 65 losses.  They are now bound for the postseason!  Atlanta will face the St. Louis Cardinals at SunTrust Park this Thursday in Game One of the National League Division Series.  Game time has yet to be determined.  Follow the Braves in the postseason on WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM.
