COOSA VALLEY FAIR, GEO-CACHING EVENT ROUND OUT THE SLATE OF LOCAL EVENTS FOR THE WEEKEND

Droves of Northwest Georgians are expected to flock to Fall’s Finest Festival, the 71st annual Coosa Valley Fair, this weekend.  The fair opened on Tuesday and will continue through Saturday on the Coosa Valley Fairgrounds.

The fair will be open until midnight this Saturday, asserts Michael Elliott, the President of the Coosa Valley Fair Association, who adds that the Miss Coosa Valley Fair pageant will highlight the slate of activities for that evening.

Gates will open Saturday morning at 10 am.  Fair hours are 5 pm until 11 pm for today.

The Coosa Valley Fair is presented annually by the Exchange Club of Rome.  The daily schedule of events is available online at www.coosavalleyfair.com. Updates are also posted through the fair’s social media outlets which include Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

A geocaching mega-event, “Going Caching 2019:  Message in a Bottle”, will continue through the weekend.  It has brought visitors to Rome from around the country and even overseas.  Additional information on this pirate-themed event is available online at www.goingcaching.com.  The event got underway on Tuesday and continues through Sunday.
