ROME INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL IS LESS THAN A MONTH AWAY

The 16th annual Rome International Film Festival is less than a month away! Festival dates are November 6th through 10th.

Monica Sheppard, RIFF board member, indicates that this event will bring filmmakers from all over the world right here to Rome, Georgia.  It will also offer an affordable entertainment option to locals.

Highlights of the 2019 festival will include a screening of the award-winning documentary film “Ruben Blades Is Not My Name” on Friday, November 8th at 7 pm at the Rome City Auditorium; it will be followed by a Salsa Dancing Party at the Brewhouse Music and Grill at 9 pm.

The salsa party will feature live music from Atlanta-based Orquesta MaCuba.  Attendees will likely be ready to hit the dance floor after viewing the film on Latin-American icon Ruben Blades, whose Grammy-winning music brought Salsa music to an international audience.

The slate of screenings also includes “Sgt. Will Gardner” (with a nod to all of our nation’s veterans) on Saturday, November 9th.

Sheppard encourages festival-goers to download the Rome International Film Festival app for on-the-go information about films, parties and other festival-related events.
