TWO TRICK-OR-TREATING EVENTS AND A TREE WALK ON TAP FOR THIS HALLOWEEN

Halloween is next Thursday, October 31st. A pair of events have been planned for that day which will provide opportunities for safe trick-or-treating to local kids and families.

Rome’s Downtown Development Authority will host the Downtown Trick-or-Treat from 3 pm until 5 pm.  Area businesses will give candy to children ages 12 and under, according to Megan Treglown, DDA PR Director.

Upon the conclusion of trick or treating in downtown Rome, load up the kids and take them to Ridgeferry Park for Truck or Treat to be hosted from 5 pm to 7:30 pm by Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation.  There will be food trucks, inflatables, and of course, trick or treating, says Jim Alred, RFPR Recreation Services Manager.  Admission is free!

Wear your best Halloween costume to Truck or Treat!  Costume contests will be held in various categories.

Also scheduled for Halloween – a Tree Walk around Rome that will be led by Keith Mickler, the UGA Extension Agent for Floyd County, and Terry Page, Arborist for the City of Rome.  Participants will meet at noon at Bridgepoint Plaza.  Mickler asserts that he really hopes for some brilliant fall color during this year’s walk.
