GDOT:  US 41 SOUTHBOUND RAMP TO CLOSE, TRAFFIC WILL BE REROUTED

Here’s a traffic note for drivers who might be heading to Cartersville to reach Interstate 75 in the not-too-distant future:

The Georgia Department of Transportation has reported that construction of the US Highway 41 interchange will close the southbound ramp from US 41 to US 411 South, beginning this Friday, November 1st.

Traffic headed south via US 41 will be detoured down Felton Road to US 411 as crews build a new US 41 southbound ramp to US 411.  The old ramp will be closed until February 2020, at which time the new ramp will be opened to motorists.

However, the traffic traveling south on Highway 41 will still be able to use a newly constructed ramp to merge onto US 411 northbound.

The entire interchange project is set for completion in April 2020.  At nearly $38 million, it is the largest GDOT project in District Six.
