SOROKA FINISHES IN SECOND PLACE FOR ’19 NL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD

Atlanta Braves pitcher Mike Soroka finished in second place for the National League’s 2019 Rookie of the Year Award.  Pete Alonso of the New York Mets won the award, as determined by votes from the Baseball Writers Association of America.  Fernando Tatis Jr. of the San Diego Padres took third place.  The Houston Astros’ Yordan Alvarez nabbed the American League’s Rookie of the Year Award.

Braves manager Brian Snitker is in the running for a second consecutive NL Manager of the Year Award.  Winners of the 2019 NL and AL MOY Awards will be announced this evening.
