OFFICERS RESPOND TO THREE-VEHICLE CRASH NEAR BARTOW COUNTY LINE

Police responded to an early-morning wreck on Georgia 140 near the Bartow County line on Monday that involved three vehicles.

According to a report from the Floyd County Police, officers responded to a wreck with injuries at 6:40 am near the Bartow County boundary.  A Honda Civic, driven by Dawn Marie Hudgins (age 48 and of Menlo), was traveling east on Georgia 140 towards Bartow County when a Ford Escape exited from Buttrum Road.  The Escape was driven by Miguel Domingo (age 27 and of a Calhoun address), who failed to yield after he stopped at the intersection and collided with the Civic. The crash’s impact caused the Civic to be pushed into westbound traffic, where it was struck head-on by a Chevrolet Colorado that was occupied by Garrett James Azzinaro (age 34 and of Adairsville).

Domingo was issued a citation by Officer Jim McCormick for failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.

Hudgins suffered a broken nose and ribs in this incident, while Azzinaro has had complaints of hand and knee injuries.  Both of them were transported to a local hospital.
