The Rome Noon Optimist Club will yet again be “Flipping for Youth” at their 59th annual Pancake Breakfast, which will be held Saturday, November 23rd at the Rome Civic Center. The all-you-can-eat feast will be served from 6 am to noon. Tickets may be purchased in advance from any Optimist at a cost of $7 each, as well as at the Georgia’s Rome Gift Shop on Jackson Hill. The cost is $8 per ticket at the door. Sausage will also be available in one-pound packets for $5 each.
Mark Swanson, the Chairman of this year’s Pancake Breakfast, enthuses that he eagerly anticipates this popular community event which is held every year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Attendees will enjoy pancakes and sausage, along with their choice of coffee, orange juice, milk, chocolate milk or soft drink. Plates are also available for carry-out. Drive-through service will additionally be offered. Club member Scott Moody attests that there are three convenient ways to enjoy the pancake breakfast on Saturday.
The club’s fundraising goal for this year has been set at $47,000. The money will go primarily towards youth-related projects in and around Rome.
Swanson states that the Pancake Breakfast is the Rome Noon Optimist Club’s only fundraiser of the year. Some of the proceeds fund scholarships for local students.
