The Floyd County Emergency Management Agency has joined the statewide observance of Winter Weather Preparedness Week, which will continue until this Friday. It is led by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency with cooperation from the National Weather Service and the Georgia Department of Transportation.
Winter weather can be unpredictable in Georgia, and it is wise to be prepared for whatever Mother Nature sends our way. Tim Herrington, the Director of the Floyd EMA, urges locals families to build a winter weather preparedness kit for their vehicles. This just might come in handy in the event that a winter storm keeps motorists stuck in their cars for a long period of time. Herrington recalls “Snowmageddon” of 2014, which paralyzed traffic in some areas.

LOEFFLER APPOINTED TO US SENATE POST
