Restoration Lindale, Inc. invites the public to Christmas in Lindale 2019 this Saturday. Activities will include the 6th annual Lindale Christmas Parade, set for 3 pm; line up is slated for 2:30 pm at Pepperell Primary School. The Star Lighting Ceremony and Festival will additionally a part of the festivites. The festival will take place from 2 pm until 6 pm along South 1st Street. The Star Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5 pm and will culminate with the lighting of the star between the smokestacks at the old Lindale Mill at around 6 pm.
The ‘Star between the ‘Stacks’ is tradition which dates back to the Depression era, asserts Tim Reynolds, President of Restoration Lindale, Inc.
The Lindale Mill officially ceased operations on September 28, 2001, though the star lives on through the efforts of volunteers, adds Reynolds.
