FALCONS TOP PANTHERS AT ‘THE BENZ’

The Atlanta Falcons beat the Carolina Panthers 40-20 on Sunday afternoon at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. This allowed the Falcons to snap a two-game losing skid and to sweep the season series with the Panthers, who have lost their last five games and have been officially eliminated from playoff contention.

Highlights for Atlanta included a 93-yard touchdown pass from Matt Ryan to Olamide Zaccheaus in the third quarter, the longest TD pass of Ryan’s career.  It came a short time after the Falcons inducted Roddy White into their ring of honor during a ceremony at halftime.  Ryan also became the 10th quarterback in NFL history to reach 50,000 yards.

The Falcons improved to 4-9 on the season.  They will head out west to take on the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday at 4:25 pm Eastern.
