Rome Floyd Parks and Recreation invites families to visit with Santa Claus and his athletic elves at a new offering for the holidays called Playtime with Santa.
Free events will be held over the next two weeks at parks and rec locations around the community. Santa and his elves will head to the Thornton Center this evening from 5:30 pm until 8:30 pm. They will be at the Parker Center on Tuesday and the Anthony Center on Thursday.
Jim Alred, Recreation Services Manager, asserts that those in attendance will enjoy games and refreshments. Kids may also have their pictures taken with Santa Claus. Playtime with Santa will additionally promote the activities that take place year-round at parks and rec facilities.
Events will take place at the Fielder Center on Monday, December 16th and at the Gilbreath Center on Tuesday, December 17th.
The ultimate goal, indicates Alred, is to establish a new holiday tradition for Rome and Floyd County.
Santa will also pay a visit to the RFPR headquarters at 1 Shorter Avenue next Monday, December 16th from 10 am until noon.
