DOWNTOWN RETAILERS TO STAY OPEN LATE AS PART OF ‘ROME FOR THE HOLIDAYS’

Downtown Rome will stay open late for holiday shoppers tonight as part of a new event supported by the Downtown Development Promotions Committee called “Rome for the Holidays”, which will take place from 5 pm until 9 pm.

More than 25 retail shops will stay open late with sales and special offers this evening, according to Megan Treglown, Public Relations Director for Rome’s Downtown Development Authority.  Among the deals – a free bag of popcorn with any combo ticket purchased at the Forum On Ice.

Highlights of the evening will include pictures with Santa at the Rome Little Theatre.  Treglown shares a list of participating businesses.

And grab a bite to eat – like an ice cream – while you are downtown tonight, urges Treglown.

Treglown additionally encourages holiday shoppers to roam Broad Street and check out businesses’ Christmas windows.  Then vote for your favorite on the Downtown Rome, GA Facebook page.  Ballots are also available at all of the participating businesses and at the Georgia’s Rome Gift Shop and Downtown Welcome Center.

Parking in the 3rd Avenue parking deck will be free tonight as a part of “Rome for the Holidays”.  For more details, search for the event on Facebook.

This event is made possible by BID, or the downtown Business Improvement District, which is funded by downtown business and property owners.
