It is almost time for the Christmas Tournament! The 66th annual Seven Hills Rotary/Rome News-Tribune Holiday Festival Basketball Tournament begins on Monday. Local high school girls and boys basketball teams are preparing to compete for a coveted Gold Ball trophy. Again in 2019, Georgia Highlands and Berry Colleges will serve as the host venues.
Tune in for broadcast coverage of the tourney all week long on the airwaves of WLAQ 1410 AM and 96.9 FM. The opening day games will be played at Berry’s Cage Center on Monday. Matt Davis will have the play-by-play story of the 4 pm match between the Rome and Coosa girls, followed by the Rome versus Coosa boys game scheduled for 5:30 pm. Ben Poplin will continue the play-by-play with Woodland versus Darlington girls at 7 pm and the nightcap between the Woodland and Darlington boys at 8:30 pm.
